The Ironshield was the second Nymean Star Destroyer to be built. The destroyer was sent to Battle of Gora as part of the garrison at that important world in the Nymean Ascendancy. When the Galactic Alliance attacked, the Ironshield took severe damage. Only Trivas arriving with reinforcements saved the ship from destruction.
After five and a half months of repairs, the Ironshield was able to join the task force sent out to defeat Nefarious and help the Obsidian Union. The ship did not receive much damage during that campaign. Her captain, Veran, a dark green skinned Areltsi was known for conservative tactics to minimize friendly losses even at the expense of kills.
When the Galaxial War was over, the ship was attached as the flagship of the Third Nymean Fleet. Captain Veran became Admiral Veran and was put in charge of the Third Fleet. There, the Ironshield served in the Vagaari War and did well in several minor battles.
The ship was part of a Nymean task force sent to Sal Maro under the general command of Eliana. In that battle, the ship was severely damaged and abandoned. It was later salvaged and scrapped.
